FUNKE Mode S transponder
AIR Avionics traffic awareness and collision avoidance system
The AIR Avionics system significantly enhances flight safety and situational awareness by detecting surrounding traffic through FLARM, ADS-B and Mode S transponder signals. The system provides real-time traffic information, visual alerts and traffic warnings, helping the pilot identify nearby aircraft and maintain safe separation during VFR cross-country operations. It is particularly effective in busy European airspace thanks to its ability to detect a wide range of electronically conspicuous aircraft.
The dual Nesis III installation provides comprehensive flight, navigation and engine information on two large, easy-to-read displays, creating a highly capable touring platform with excellent redundancy and pilot workload reduction. |
| Equipment | The aircraft is equipped with a GALAXY GRS whole-aircraft ballistic recovery parachute system, providing an additional level of safety for both pilot and passenger.
Additional equipment includes:
Variable-pitch propeller with governor
Certified night-flight lighting system approved by the aviation authority
Engine thermostat for faster warm-up and optimal operating temperatures
Two dedicated luggage compartments for travel bags and personal belongings
Alcantara-upholstered seats providing excellent comfort and a premium cockpit appearance
Dual Kanardia Nesis III glass cockpit displays
FUNKE 8.33 kHz radio
FUNKE Mode S transponder
AIR Avionics traffic awareness and collision avoidance system
The aircraft has been configured as a comfortable and capable touring platform, combining excellent fuel efficiency, modern avionics, high safety standards and practical cross-country functionality. |
| Exterior | The Ekolot TOPAZ is a modern high-wing aircraft featuring a sleek cantilever wing design without external struts, resulting in improved aerodynamic efficiency, higher cruise speeds and a very clean appearance. The aircraft is constructed using advanced composite technology with carbon and fiberglass structural elements, combining low weight, high strength and excellent durability.
The spacious side-by-side cockpit design offers excellent visibility and pilot comfort, while the aerodynamic fuselage and carefully refined airframe provide outstanding cross-country performance and efficiency. The TOPAZ is widely recognized for its elegant lines, modern styling and excellent handling characteristics.
This particular aircraft is in very good overall condition, both technically and visually. The airframe has been carefully maintained and presents exceptionally well.
